Frequently asked questions
Everything but the mustard* is vegan and gluten-free; we use beer and honey in our mustard. Everything is oil-free and dairy-free. Our facility is shared with a company that makes nut butters, so if your nut allergy is severe, steer clear of our products to be safe. Otherwise, our products (except for seasonal pestos!) are nut-free.
* If you are vegan but are chill about honey, then the mustard is safe for you! Our Beer Mustard is not gluten-free, though.
Recipes and flexibility. We like to follow our foodie hearts when we approach making any dish. Recipes are good guides for making food, but we think the secret is in riffing on it the next time you make it, adding a little of this or that, swapping a thing or two for something else. Dilly Dally products really shine in the realm of riffing. Most of our products can be used in many different ways, with many different kinds of food—check out our Recipe Box for recipes from our founder. We encourage experimenting! We’re always here to answer any product use or food questions you may have. Just drop us a line!
A dilly bean is simply a humble, dill-pickled green bean. Our recipe sticks close to Jordan’s family recipe, a classic take on the Southern favorite—crunchy, dilly, tangy, infinitely snackable.
Cowboy candy is candied jalapeños—some batches carry a bit more heat than others; it depends on the pepper, of course. To candy a pepper, you slice the peppers, then stew them a bit in simple syrup to get a sweet heat that is oh so delicious. We love to serve them with cream cheese and seeded crackers, but recommend you put them on sandwiches, tacos, salads—basically anything you want a sweet, low heat on!
It’s honestly pretty mid-level spicy, 3-out-of-5 stars. We wanted a giard that wouldn’t cause you pain but would definitely tickle your taste buds and maybe make one drop of sweat form on your brow.
Yes. It’s.. in the name. How hot, you may ask? 3-out-of-5-star heat. This sauce will not melt your face off, but what it will do is be delicious. Especially on carnitas tacos.
Yes. But not like the hot sauce or the gardienera. Mustard spice is more like horseradish; it’s a spice you feel in your nose more than on your tongue. If you have a runny nose, this will clear it right up AND be tasty.
The corn relish. No contest. He says its like nostalgia in a jar, something his grandmother Agnes always had on hand. It's the perfect balance of sweet and tangy; he puts it on everything!

The answer to this question changes regularly! We have varying needs depending on the season and what we’ve got cooking. We welcome resumes from foodies, chefs, salesfolks, and pretty much anyone else. Shoot over your resume and tell us why you’d be a good fit at DDP.
No, we do not accept returns. If your product arrives damaged and you bought it directly from Dilly Dally Provisions, shoot us an email, and we'll get you a non-damaged one asap.
Yes and no. For our preserved products (anything you might buy from our online store), you should refrigerate them after opening, and they'll last you about 90 days. Before opening, our preserved goods are shelf-stable for ~18 months, meaning you can keep them in your pantry for a while until you open.
For our seasonal sauces and pestos, those are not preserved and should be refrigerated the minute you get home from the farmer's market. Pestos and other fresh products will last you about 30 days.
What others are saying
I discovered Dilly Dally at a farmer's market in Lake Forest and found out the owner uses locally-sourced produce whenever possible. The green garlic pesto and giardinara are amazing! Looking forward to trying more items!
I've purchased their product for a year now. Fast shipping, nicely packed. The Spicy Giardiniera Relish is my absolute favorite. I can't eat a hotdog without it. The Dilly Beans, Corn Relish, and Pineapple Hot Sauce are also money! Highly recommend!!
Everything they make is a hit around my house.
